The Attorneys’ Real Estate Council of Miami-Dade County (aka South Miami-Dade) recently welcomed new President Ivette Rodriguez of Coral Gables. She and her expanded board of directors, which now includes Ana Angulo, Ana Maria Camacho, Cristina Pelaez, Ira Price, Craig Zimmett, Gina Blanco, Juan Fernandez-Barquin, Monica Miguel Cabrera and Humberto Rodriguez, have jumped into their new roles. As a result, they recruited more new members than any other REC in the last two months. Congratulations to all!


The Central Florida Real Estate Attorneys’ Council (CFREAC) held its annual meeting on August 11th and installed its new slate of officers led by Ray Schumann who took the reins as President from Jessica Parker Malchow of Baker Hostetler. Malchow led her already strong REC through a series of additional changes including the revision of their by-laws and the addition of a new President-Elect position. Thank you Jessica for the incredible job. Ray, you have big shoes to fill!


The Jacksonville Area Real Estate Council continues to prosper under its new leadership. President Brenda Ezell and the new board of directors, which now includes Meghan Edwards, Jalinda “Jay” Davis, Ian Brown, Jeff Marks and Haywood Ball, Bryan Goode and Duane Romanello, welcomed more than thirty attorneys to their REC’s inaugural member event in June. They’ve already scheduled their next two events – a member meeting on September 22nd where Jim Kearn, Fund Sr. Underwriting Counsel, Commercial Services, will present Commercial Title Insurance Coverage in Multi-parcel & Multistate Transactions and Legal Implications of Drones in Real Estate to the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors® in January 2017.


On July 14th the Real Property Council of Volusia County hosted a Leadership Kick-off Luncheon for area real estate attorneys interested in getting involved in a leadership role. Their next meeting is September 14th and we wish them well as they move their organization forward.
