Fund Regulatory Compliance Counsel Robert Rohan reported that the changes to the proposed rule announced at the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) Board meeting on August 19th were published in the Florida Administrative Register September 1st.  The rule, if approved, would extend the period for offering distance learning of previously approved live, in-person course offerings to January 1, 2021.  The significant change is a requirement the provider have the ability to video monitor attendance.  The portion of the rule which affects our presentations is shown below with the new language underlined.  The current emergency rule is set to expire Oct. 6th and it is unclear when the proposed rule will become effective.  The emergency rule does not include the video monitoring requirement.
